ps- thanks again designboom!! i have to give cred where credit is due

nicolas le moigne has created these stools made of eternit(concrete/fiber).. funny b/c i think that is a asbestos compond(and asbestos is a carcinogenic agent) scary! this may not be true.. so i am sorry if i am wrong.. but he has def come ways from his last hit.. which i own (thanks mum)

i know it is a small and shit photo. . but still black light ping pong?? so fun! too bad my shoulder is STILL not in any shape to do anything at all like that... thanks core77 for the coverage of the show.. i feel like a guy at a baseball game sitting in the tree out past right field...

well. andrea is in nyc and i am officially jelous.. i know that people are saying the work is a little (or a lot) like last year and somehting like that.. lacking new stuff.. does not matter to me at all.. i would gladly love to experience a lot of the pieces that i look at on here all the time.. the obove is a good example of that.. fabulouso uhuru do most of thies work with selvanged materials from older demolished buildings.. why not right? speaking of jelousy.. boy am i bad at spelling..

meh... these are ok... haha.. amazing architecture! here is a little glimpse into the one of many developments going on in.. yup.. you guessed it... dubai (well actually a little island called Nurai, located northeast of Abu Dhabi city).. places start at 20mill euros so start saving your pennies!
New York based Studio Dror will handle the houses while Paris-based firm AW2 will take care of the lux hotel...
projects like this definitally catch my eye but at the same time scare me a little as to the amount of money people are will to spend.... speaking of which.. i got my first little dose of the american health care system and lets just say a simple trip to the emergency room may set me back $1200... and i work there!!!! hopefully i can get something sorted out.. wish me luck!

above is a cottage in Denmark designed by Christensen & Co Architects.. danielle from ths style files featured this place not too long ago.. i was just at the chris & co website and thought i should put it up.. so... its up!

ps- i cannot wait for her to get a little more time to get her own little website going.. i think it will bring big things!

well.. just thought that i would share that my little 'blog' was advertized on the scad fibers web site.. i think it was a link to the little thing i did on andrea? anywhhay.. just boasting.. first 2 photos are from my private collection (sound fancy right?) and the third photo is from when andrea went to the directions show in new york... kind of a sloppy show from what i heard from her but still a good experience for her! she is off to icff next week and her work is also in surtex! dam she gets work DONE! congrats andrea! muah!
when you go to google and search andrea gray my site is 5th on the list... so maybe me putting her name a few times will take me to the top! ha

Corona y P. Amaral Arquitectos = coo po

Carlos Gutierrez for UPI mother nature sure can do some amazing things.. how old is she now?

e. broad garden studio
image lifted from a daily does of arch and ARX Portugal (Nuno Mateus/José Mateus) designed the house in Cascais, Portugal.. not wild about the whole house but i do love the pool house/ studio (or at least that is what i would like to call it)....
seeing all of these projects really makes me think about the cottage.. such a perfect place

sculp(IT) - Pieter Peerlings & Silvia Mertens make a 7ft10in wide living space work.. we have all seen our fairshare of container houses.. but this is a real great thing! 4 floors... 4 functions (0 = work, 1 = dining, 2 = relaxing, 3 = sleeping and roof = up to you!) mr Luc Roymans took the photos.. yes. anyho... there are many great photos and this was a interesting project!

Saturday, May 10

ffffound never a dissapointment! well today we got some much needed apartment cleaning done.. we have sort of been in move in mode since we got in there and now it is really time to start the REAL organization.. i also started to overhaul a bike that andrea is going to use.. the GT pantara.. its kind of funny working no a bike when you have just gotten in a bike reck (yes.. the spelling is wrong)... i should be an amazing and super smooth ride when i am finished with it..

Friday, May 9

urbn... really hitting it off with this sofa... wonderful midcentury lines and the thing is only $480 + $115 for ship.... only.. haha.. listen to me.. it is not a bad deal.. there was a urbn sofa that i liked before but i got to sit on it and it was total crap.. would love to have a seat in this.. in any event.. not a bad price at all.....
as a side note... i never really look at/ read my own blog.. i just vomit some photos up and rub around some words (so descriptive right?)... so i got bored and tried to lux it up a little.. thing is about it is that i am not crazy about it nor do i think i will change it... again.. open to any feedback!
oh yeah.. and ebay is not bad for sofas either!!!

Thursday, May 8

feedback pppplease.. i like the change but dont love it.. my storage is nearly up.. any suggestions?

studiocharlie thanks grace for a good find here.. i am sure the price for this would be out of this world.. but what a beautiful work table.. buybuybuybuybuybuybuy

Soojin Hyun... ok i first must start saying that i just shamefully riped these photos from MOCOLOCO the link is there... wonderful site.. there daily.. i usually like to go to the artists site.. check them out.. and try to get the photos direct from them.. but sadly the design mong site is down at the moment.. anyho.. it would be fun if a company expanded on this idea a little if people wanted a litle bit of privacy without the cubicle feel.. i think skylights must be added! fun space!

am i really spamming on my own site? haha.. well i put a little love into the daily food spot ting.. give it a look and let me know what it needs... merci! and enoji

crap photos as usual but this is our home.. i was just looking through some of our photos and thought i would be nice and sharing.. sharing = caring!!! i like our little shelving wall.. its been up for a while and has changed a little since the photo (about a month or so old) but i still love all out little bits on there.. some things with real personal value.. thats what it is all about!

sam brown... sheep stools.. very fun ..
speaking of sheep (horrible joke.. sorry) i would really love to buy a good chefs knife... i spend a lot of time with it in my hand and i have never really held or used a really good one.. i have used some ok knives.. but i really want a perfect one that you become friends with and shapen (steel) often (on a 18degree angle).. yeah.. i think i am ready for one.. there are so many out there.. anyone.. with ANY knowledge please let me know..
oh.. and about the time in the kitchen.. i take photos! yup.. it true.. i know.. thanks.. haha.. i do! so look at them! things have not gotten organized yet (things = me) but i think i may take a stab at something a little like this (dailydesignspot) for my attempts in the kitchen.. nothing to get too excited about but looking at what others are eating is always fun.. dont lie.. you do it every time you are out.. dailyfoodspot ..... here.. but coming organized soon! haha.. right now it is a bit of a mess of photos but i htink i will casually throw some process photos up as well..
first time i ever used some colourful letters.. woo ho.. big day at the office!

well.. andrea have maybe .. finally decided on a pendant .. cb2 has a fwe great options.. and we have a few others.. could look real clean if we play our cards right.. i also like their puddle pendants.. but i dont think andrea is totally sold on them.. what are your thoughtssps? we have a 20ft granite (spelling) bar .. some light wood cabinets.. slate/blue back splash polished silver appliances.. yup.. lucky us. ha.. we are north facing so that southern sun does not gett up too bad but we still like to keep things nice and clean (airy?) i also love thoes stone/wood/steel peices i found.. reminds me of home.. i have a collection of raw beach granite like that at home in halifax and it makes me want to get it down here some how... and maybe even more of it.. hint hint any one who comes to visit and brings a car.. dont worry.. come by plane and you are exempt. ok.. enough.
